The Facts About Human Trafficking

Learn the facts about human trafficking. Since 2009, RDS has been working with girls and young women who have been involved in domestic sex trafficking in California. The statistics are shocking, and we believe they should be more widely known. It is common for the girls' pimps or "sponsors" to confiscate their driver's licenses, passports, and all other forms of identification. The pimps also take all of the girls' money and systematically separate them from their family, friends, and children. This is done to prevent the girls from escaping their ruthless clutches. Even more alarmingly, Compton gangs control sex trafficking in the local area, and statistics show crimes increase wherever sex trafficking is allowed to thrive.
